Fair Taste (HK)

Founded in 2004 by Puifung and two like-minded friends, Fair Taste (HK) was the first Fair Trade social enterprise established in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Taiwan. Having previously worked at Oxfam HK and Greenpeace, Puifung was clearly aware that unfair trading has led to poverty and environmental degradation in our world. Knowing that large corporations decide how the majority of our world resources are used, Puifung hopes to run a sustainable business that is also ethical. In the very same year, the first local Fair Trade brand – FAIRTASTE – was born. From there, we are all set to spread our FAIRTASTE spirit beyond.

FAIRTASTE products are also organically/naturally grown and locally made using the finest Fair Trade ingredients traceable to the origin, meaning you can always feel safe when consuming FAIRTASTE products. In line with our commitment to sustainability, whenever possible, all packaging materials are made from FSC or recycled materials printed in soy ink.

Our Printing

To support sustainability, all packaging materials are made from FSC or recycled materials as much as possible and are printed with soybean ink.

Soybean Ink is an ink made from soybean oil instead of traditional petroleum solvents. Soybean oil is an edible oil, and when decomposed, it significantly reduces the risk of organic solvent and heavy metal residues when using traditional inks.

Soybean is an annual herbaceous plant with high protein seeds that can survive even after dehydration and can continue to grow after absorbing water. Soybeans are not only infinitely renewable, but can also be recycled more effectively when the printed materials using soy ink are recycled, and the waste residue can be better decomposed naturally, significantly reducing the pollution caused by the use of fossil fuels such as petroleum and ensuring that modern technology has sufficient energy and power for sustainable development.
